Another year, another new year's resolution. And because I made this blog for documenting my financial journey, it is only best if I'll share my 2018 Financial Goals. I'll make it simple and attainable of course. Hoping to get back to this post to check if I was able to accomplish what is listed.
1. Mutual Funds accounts for the kids. - My kids will start to go to school this year. And as early as now, I wanted to plan for their education. I wasn't keen on getting an educational fund for them but instead get them their own Mutual Funds account. I already got my MF late last year and still need to add funds on it.
2. Additional funds for UITF and UITF for the kids BDO Junior Savers account. - Since 3 months old, my kids already got their BDO Junior Savers Account. All their money which includes their Christmas gifts goes here. As I don't really want to touch their account, initially thought of investing their atleast 10k on UITF to gain it more than just waiting for the low interest from the bank.
3. Atleast 1 month emergency fund. - The hardest for me to save. Recommended amount for an emergency fund is 3-6 months but its really difficult for me as I keep on spending it. I need to have a different gameplan for this. Thinking of doing some Money Challenges or just pay yourself first routine to come up with the amount.
4. Additional top-up on Sunlife VUL. - Extra income goes here.
5. Minimize debts. - Major goal that I wanted to zeroed out. Still paying for the mortgaged house, SSS Loan and Pag-Ibig Loan.
6. Earn more on the blog. - Focus on doing sponsored posts and save up the generated income to add up on the investments. Last year, I documented an estimate income that my first blog is getting so hopefully I will be able to share it here soon.
7. Be a Sunlife Financial Advisor. - I've been very busy last month so I had a setback on taking the exams. I still need to take the VUL exam and has a long way to go but hopefully mid this year, I'll be able to finish and take the licensure exam.
Let's do this 2018!
